Haldyn Glass Limited planning to set up Neutral Glass Vials Project in Gujarat

Haldyn Glass Ltd. intends to expand its Gavasad neutral glass vials project. The extension project will be completed in two phases and is projected to cost roughly Rs. 36 crores. The installation of a new production line with a capacity of 50 million vials per year will be the first phase of the expansion project. The installation of another production line with a capacity of 50 million vials per year will be the second phase of the expansion project.Around 100 employees are projected to be employed as a result of the expansion project.

The initiative is also anticipated to benefit the region's economy.Environics (India) Pvt. Ltd. completed the environmental impact assessment report (EIAR) for the expansion project. The EIAR has analyzed the project's possible environmental consequences and identified mitigating actions to mitigate these impacts.Neutral Glass Vials plant capacity ranging from 360 to 460 tpa at Gavasad village, Padra taluka in Gujarat's Vadodara district. The following are the project's primary environmental impacts:Pollutants such as SO2, NOx, and particulate matter will be released into the atmosphere as a result of the project. These contaminants have been linked to respiratory issues, heart disease, and other health issues.Water pollution: The project will produce wastewater containing chemicals and contaminants.

This effluent has the potential to damage the neighboring water bodies, threatening aquatic life and human health.Noise pollution: The plant's operations will cause noise pollution as part of the project. This noise pollution can lead to hearing loss and other health issues.Changes in land use: The project will need the use of land, which may result in the displacement of people and wildlife. To mitigate these environmental impacts, the EIAR has developed mitigating methods. Among these measures are:Installing pollution control equipment to decrease pollutant emissions into the atmosphere.Preparing wastewater for disposal into the environment by removing contaminants.Noise-cancelling equipment is being used to reduce noise pollution.Compensation for humans and wildlife harmed by land use change.

The environmental clearance procedure is still under progress. After reviewing the EIAR and other relevant elements, the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) will decide whether to provide environmental clearance for the project. If the project receives environmental clearance, Haldyn Glass Ltd. must follow the criteria of the clearance. These conditions will ensure that the project does not have a substantial negative impact on the environment. The following are some of the project's primary features:Gavasad is the location. The project will cost Rs. 175 crores.Environics (India) Pvt. Ltd. created an environmental impact assessment report (EIAR).The environmental clearance procedure is still under progress. If environmental clearance is given, the project must follow the requirements of the clearance.

As of September 2023, The project is in the final stages of completion work on the project is finished between 75% & 80% of the time the work on the project will be finished by 2023 or 2024.
