Haryana's Highway Hopes: ₹325 Cr Project Greenlit

In a major infrastructure push for southern Haryana, the Central Government has approved the development of a 45-kilometre four-lane highway connecting Nuh to Ferozepur Jhirka and Alwar on the Rajasthan border. The project, part of National Highway 248-A, is expected to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and significantly improve road safety.

With a total outlay of ₹325 crore, the highway will include nine flyovers, six underpasses, and bypasses at Malab and Bhadas in Nuh district. Designed with a two-year completion target, the new corridor aims to reduce accidents on this high-risk route, where over 2,500 fatalities have been recorded in the past 12 years.

The project had initially been sanctioned with ₹186 crore in 2019 but was delayed due to overlapping plans with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. It has now been revived with enhanced funding and strong administrative backing.

Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh emphasized the strategic importance of the project, noting that it will not only boost connectivity and road safety but also open up socio-economic opportunities for communities in the region.
