HGIE Secures ₹781-Crore Contract to Upgrade NH 47 in Gujarat

Rajasthan-based HG Infra Engineering Ltd has landed a significant contract worth ₹781.11 crore to upgrade National Highway 47 in Gujarat. The company, known for its infrastructure construction services, secured the contract from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), marking a key win in the transportation sector.

The project focuses on upgrading a six-lane stretch of NH 47 between Narol junction and Sarkhej junction, covering a total length of 10.63 km. The scope of work includes building an elevated corridor to improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity in the region. This contract will be executed under the hybrid annuity mode (HAM), a popular model for highway projects that involves both government and private sector funding.

HG Infra Engineering has a construction timeline of 2.5 years to complete the project. The project’s competitive bidding saw the company emerge as the lowest bidder (L1) last month, with a bid of ₹781.11 crore, below the estimated project cost of ₹883.24 crore set by MoRTH.

The contract win is expected to bolster the company’s presence in Gujarat’s infrastructure development landscape, aligning with the government's ongoing efforts to upgrade national highways across India. HG Infra's proven track record in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects positions it well for the timely completion of this important road upgrade.

This development confirms that HG Infra Engineering has secured a contract for the NH 47 upgrade, adding to its growing portfolio of national highway projects. The stock, however, closed lower at ₹1,456.95, down 2.37% on the BSE, after the announcement.
