Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that the Himachal Pradesh government will invest ₹207.50 crore to enhance diagnostic services across the state’s health institutions, as part of a larger ₹606.70 crore plan to modernize public healthcare infrastructure.
The initiative includes the installation of advanced MRI machines (1.5T and 3T) at medical colleges in Shimla, Mandi, Nahan, Chamba, and the Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialities, Chamiyana. Additionally, seven medical colleges will be equipped with CT scanners, mobile digital radiography (DR) units, ceiling-suspended DR X-ray systems, ultrasound machines, mammography units, and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
The CM emphasized that the investment reflects the government’s commitment to systemic reform and revitalization of the state’s healthcare system.
