IHG Hotels & Resorts Introduces Garner Brand to India

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to expand its footprint in India by introducing its Garner brand for the first time in the country, according to Kenneth Macpherson, CEO for Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa (EMEAA).

The group has signed agreements for two Garner hotels in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, and Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled to open in 2026 and 2027, respectively. This expansion is part of IHG’s strategic efforts to strengthen its presence in India’s midscale hospitality sector, catering to a growing demand for affordable yet quality accommodations.

Garner Etawah will be developed in partnership with Madan Infradevelopers, while Garner Kathua will be built with Rudraksh Nakshatra Hotel. Garner is a global brand known for offering dependable, comfortable stays at great value, which IHG believes aligns perfectly with the evolving needs of India’s travelers.

Alongside the Garner brand, IHG is also expanding its luxury and lifestyle offerings. It currently operates two Six Senses properties in India—Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan and Six Senses Vana near Dehradun—both renowned for their focus on wellness and sustainability.
