Indore Smart City Development Seeks Bids for ₹460.32 Crore STP Project

Indore Smart City Development Limited (ISCDL) has issued a call for bids for the construction of seven decentralized sewage treatment plants (STPs) within the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) area. The project, valued at ₹460.32 crore, aims to enhance the city's wastewater management infrastructure in line with the redensification policy set by the government of Madhya Pradesh.

These seven STPs will have a cumulative capacity of 260 million liters per day (MLD) and are strategically planned across identified locations within the IMC jurisdiction. The project will also involve the freehold sale of 64,628.238 square meters of land, part of the Kukkut Palan Kendra land, which will be utilized for the STP construction. This land allocation aligns with the state's redensification efforts to improve urban infrastructure while managing population growth.

The new STPs are expected to play a crucial role in managing Indore's wastewater, contributing significantly to the city's environmental sustainability. By decentralizing wastewater treatment, the project will ensure efficient sewage management and reduce the burden on existing facilities. This initiative is a part of the broader smart city mission, which focuses on improving urban living conditions through sustainable and technologically advanced solutions.

Interested contractors have until September 24, 2024, to submit their bids. The project represents a significant opportunity for companies specializing in wastewater treatment and urban infrastructure development.

Upon completion, these STPs will bolster Indore’s reputation as one of India’s cleanest cities, ensuring that the city’s rapid growth is matched with adequate and environmentally responsible infrastructure. The project is a testament to the city's commitment to sustainable urban development and improved public health.
