Indra and AXISCADES Forge Indian Aerospace Powerhouse

Spanish defence leader Indra and Indian technology firm AXISCADES Technologies have formed a strategic partnership to manufacture aerospace and defence systems in India. The announcement was made during the Aerospace Show in Le Bourget this week.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos and AXISCADES Chairman Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, AXISCADES will locally produce key Indra systems. These include antennas for Tactical Air Navigation Systems (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for aircraft navigation, and countermeasure systems against missile threats such as MANPADS.

The agreement strengthens Indra’s manufacturing presence in India while leveraging AXISCADES’ established expertise in design, development, and production. Key executives including Indra Chairman Angel Escribano and AXISCADES CEO Alfonso Martínez were also present at the signing.

Beyond manufacturing, the partnership aims to jointly develop new products for Indian and global markets, with potential collaboration on MPA Airborne Solutions and DRDO’s CABS MRMR and MMMA programs. With over 25 years of experience, AXISCADES is a trusted technology partner for leading aerospace and defence OEMs worldwide.
