Infineon Technologies, one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers, is accelerating its expansion plans in India with a focus on strengthening research and development, talent acquisition, and supply chain partnerships to support the country’s growing technology and clean energy sectors.
As part of its long-term strategy, the company plans to nearly double its workforce in India from around 2,600 employees to approximately 5,000 by 2030. The expansion is aimed at enhancing advanced R&D capabilities and fostering deeper collaboration with local design houses, technology firms, and startups.
India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market is a key factor driving Infineon’s growth ambitions. Leveraging its expertise in power electronics and system integration, the company is positioning itself to support India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. To strengthen its presence in the ecosystem, Infineon is building partnerships with domestic companies, including Continental Device India Ltd (CDIL) and Kaynes Semicon, while also collaborating with Zenergize on solutions for solar energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Through closer engagement with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), startups, and the broader design ecosystem, Infineon aims to reinforce India’s semiconductor value chain and accelerate innovation in advanced power technologies, supporting the country’s transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
