Innovation Redefined: The ₹500Cr Amber R&D Project

Amber Group of Industries has announced a major expansion in Punjab with plans to establish a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) centre at Rajpura, backed by an investment of ₹500 crore.

The upcoming facility will focus on the design, validation, and testing of next-generation HVAC products for both domestic and global markets. Punjab’s Cabinet Minister for Industries and Commerce, Sanjeev Arora, welcomed the investment, noting that the project is expected to generate around 1,000 high-quality jobs and reinforce the state’s growing capabilities in advanced engineering and product design.

Amber Group, a leading manufacturing conglomerate with annual revenues of ₹10,000 crore, has a diversified presence across sectors such as printed circuit boards, air conditioners, power electronics, railways, and defence. CEO Jasbir Singh highlighted Punjab’s strong talent pool, robust infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies as key factors behind the decision to expand the company’s R&D footprint in the state. The initiative aligns with Punjab’s vision to emerge as a hub for innovation-driven manufacturing and global exports.
