Investment Boom: Vidarbha Lands ₹10,880 Crore Deals

The Maharashtra government on 7 February signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth over ₹10,880 crore with multiple companies for investments across the solar energy, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors in the Vidarbha region.

The agreements were formalised at the Advantage Vidarbha – Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav 2026, organised by the Association of Industrial Development, in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The largest investment commitment came from Galaxy Solar Energy, which plans to invest ₹10,080 crore to establish an integrated solar module and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Nagpur. The project will be implemented in three phases and is targeted for completion by 2036. It is expected to serve as an anchor project for large-scale clean energy manufacturing in Vidarbha and drive sustained industrial growth in the region.

In addition, GR Infraprojects has committed ₹200 crore to set up a tower manufacturing plant in Nagpur. Under the MoUs, the state government will extend support to the companies through necessary approvals and applicable fiscal incentives.

Highlighting Vidarbha’s growing investment momentum, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “The region is witnessing historic investment MoUs and commitments, which are now fructifying into real investments.”
