Isotopic Impact: ₹300 Crore Investment Lands in Hyderabad

Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL), a US-based manufacturer of stable isotope-labelled compounds, has partnered with Hyderabad-based speciality chemicals firm Chemtatva Chiral Solutions Pvt Ltd to form a strategic joint venture aimed at establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities in Telangana.

The joint venture plans to invest about ₹300 crore over the next three years to set up a facility in Genome Valley Phase 4, a key life sciences cluster near Hyderabad. The project is expected to create over 250 jobs while strengthening India’s capabilities in producing isotopically labelled molecules used in pharmaceutical research, diagnostics, advanced electronics and semiconductor applications.

According to Shakthi M. Nagappan, CEO of Telangana Life Sciences, stable isotopes and labelled molecules are essential for modern pharmaceutical research, diagnostics and emerging electronics technologies. The proposed facility will manufacture a broad range of stable isotope-labelled compounds that support drug discovery, metabolic studies, diagnostics and advanced materials research.
