ITC Hotels Chairman Sanjiv Puri announced a revised growth target, revealing that the company now aims to operate over 220 hotels with 20,000 keys by 2030—surpassing its earlier goal of 200 properties.
Speaking at the company’s second Annual General Meeting, Puri attributed this ambitious expansion to rising domestic and international tourism, improving infrastructure, and broader economic momentum.
Highlighting India’s underpenetrated hotel sector—with just 0.3 rooms per 1,000 people compared to the global average of 2.2—he emphasized the significant growth potential. In FY24 alone, ITC Hotels signed 30 new franchise and management agreements. The group currently operates 143 hotels across 90 locations under six distinct brands.
ITC Hotels continues to follow an “asset-right” strategy, with a strong focus on expanding into tier-2 and tier-3 cities to unlock new markets.
Puri also noted emerging tourism trends—including adventure, cultural, spiritual, and medical travel—boosted by government initiatives to develop 50 tourist destinations. While acknowledging risks like geopolitical fragmentation, he expressed confidence in the sector’s trajectory, with foreign tourist arrivals steadily approaching pre-pandemic levels.
