Jaisalmer: The New Cement Capital of India with ₹17,000 Cr. Boost

Rajasthan is poised to overtake Andhra Pradesh as India’s largest cement-producing state, with Jaisalmer emerging as a strategic hub for new capacity additions.

Between 2026 and 2029, six new cement plants are slated for development in Jaisalmer, backed by investments exceeding ₹17,000 crore. These projects will collectively add nearly 16 million tonnes of cement manufacturing capacity. Currently, Andhra Pradesh leads the sector with an installed capacity of 62.5 million tonnes, followed by Rajasthan at 55 million tonnes. The upcoming units—supported by secured limestone mining leases and investments from leading industry players—are expected to position Rajasthan at the top of the national rankings.

Additionally, ongoing projects in Nagaur and established operations in Chittorgarh are further bolstering the state’s output. Officials have confirmed that these projects are well past the planning stage, marking a substantial leap forward for Rajasthan’s cement industry and its role in supporting national infrastructure growth.
