Jewar Airport Gets Road Ready: Key Projects Nearing Completion

Authorities are expediting infrastructure development to ensure seamless connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. Among the key projects is the 5.5 km Bhangel Elevated Road—a six-lane corridor linking Agahpur to the NSEZ on the DSC Road. Initially launched in June 2020 with a budget of ₹468 crore, the project faced delays due to design changes and funding issues, pushing costs up to ₹608 crore. It is now nearing completion and is expected to open by July 2025.

Another crucial project is the DND–Faridabad–Ballabhgarh Bypass Road, which will provide direct access from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Jewar Airport. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved an additional ₹48.6 crore for the project. Construction is already in progress, with 66.73 hectares of land acquired and ₹260 crore paid in compensation to local farmers.

To further enhance connectivity, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will build an 8.5 km elevated stretch as part of a 22 km Greenfield Expressway connecting Faridabad to Jewar. Approved under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme, this expressway is expected to significantly boost regional economic growth.

In addition, the state government plans to construct a 76 km expressway connecting Jewar Airport directly to the Ganga Expressway. With an allocation of ₹1,000 crore, this road will start in Bulandshahr and link to the Yamuna Expressway—dramatically improving airport access for residents of Meerut and Bulandshahr, while providing seamless transit for users of the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressways.
