Jindal Cement’s 10MT Ambition: A ₹3,000 Crore Power Move

Jindal Cement plans to quadruple its production capacity to 10 million tonnes over the next two to three years, supported by an investment of approximately Rs 3,000 crore.

The expansion will increase output at the company’s Raigarh plant in Chhattisgarh and its Angul plant in Odisha, which together currently have a combined capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per annum. Of the total planned investment, around Rs 2,500 crore will be allocated to add 4.5 million tonnes of new capacity, including three million tonnes at Raigarh and 1.5 million tonnes at Angul. The expansion strategy aligns with strong demand prospects driven by India’s ongoing infrastructure development and housing growth.

As part of Naveen Jindal’s Jindal Steel group, Jindal Cement aims to leverage operational synergies arising from its proximity to steel manufacturing facilities. This expansion positions the company to strengthen its presence in India’s expanding cement market. Commenting on the growth plan, CEO Rohit Vohra said, “We are building scale in a calibrated and sustainable manner.”
