Jindal Stainless Debuts ₹125 Cr Mumbai Fabrication Unit

Jindal Stainless, through its subsidiary Jindal Stainless Steelway, has inaugurated its first stainless steel fabrication unit at Washivali, Patalganga near Mumbai, with an investment of ₹125 crore.

Spread across 4 lakh sq. ft., the facility is designed to fabricate critical bridge components and girders, addressing the growing demand in India’s infrastructure sector. The unit’s annual capacity is expected to scale from 4,000 tonnes in FY26 to 18,000 tonnes by FY27. It will focus on delivering durable, low-maintenance bridge structures using stainless steel, known for its 100+ year lifespan and corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel.

As part of its strategic vision, the company has also established a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the facility to bridge the skilled fabricator gap through focused training programs. The project is expected to generate over 250 direct jobs and benefit more than 150 families indirectly.

Future plans include setting up additional fabrication units in other regions and integrating solar power at the Mumbai plant to enhance sustainability.
