Jyoti Structures has announced the successful completion and commissioning of the 400 kV Gadag–II transmission line project in Karnataka for ReNew Power.
The project involves 100 circuit kilometres (ckm) of twin HTLS transmission lines connecting the Gadag Power Station and Koppal Power Station, passing through the two districts. According to the company, the project team managed significant right-of-way (ROW) constraints and challenging soil conditions, including stretches of black cotton soil during execution.
The transmission line forms part of the interstate transmission system designed to evacuate renewable power from the Koppal Solar Energy Zone, which has an estimated generation capacity of 1,500 MW. The project has been implemented on a build, own, operate, and maintain (BOOM) basis and will facilitate the transfer of renewable energy to the national grid.
With the commissioning of the line, grid connectivity for renewable energy projects in the region is expected to improve, enabling efficient evacuation of solar power and supporting India’s transition toward a more sustainable energy system.
