KEI Industries' ₹3,000 Cr Sanand Boost Back on Track

KEI Industries Ltd announced that the first phase of its upcoming Sanand manufacturing plant in Gujarat is set to begin commercial production by December 2025, following a four-month delay.

In its initial phase, the facility will operate at over 50% of its rated capacity, contributing an estimated ₹3,000 crore in revenues starting Q4 FY26. The delay has been attributed to prolonged monsoon conditions and labour-related challenges during the construction phase.

The second phase of the project—focused on Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) cable production—has also been delayed by around nine months and is now scheduled for completion in FY27.

The Sanand plant will incorporate advanced Vertical Continuous Vulcanization (VCV) lines for EHV cables, including a 158-metre tower currently under construction. Meanwhile, KEI’s existing Chopanki facility continues to witness strong demand for EHV cables, particularly from export markets, supporting the company’s robust order book of ₹636 crore.
