The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has announced a tender valued at ₹85.42 crore for the enhancement of the sewerage system in several wards under Borough XVI. This significant infrastructure project aims to improve the underground sewer lines across Ward numbers 124, 142, 143, and 144.
The project involves extensive work on laying new underground sewer lines along various lateral roads within these wards. The upgrades are crucial for improving the efficiency and reliability of the city's sewerage system, addressing existing challenges, and preventing future issues related to drainage and sanitation.
KMC has set a 24-month completion timeline for the project, emphasizing the need for timely execution to minimize disruption to the affected areas. The initiative is part of a broader effort by the municipal body to modernize the city’s infrastructure and improve public health and hygiene standards.
Contractors interested in bidding for this project must submit their proposals by the deadline of 21 September 2024. The tender process is expected to attract competitive bids from qualified firms, ensuring that the project is carried out to the highest standards.
