Kochi Metro Phase III: Aluva to Angamaly via Airport

Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. (KMRL) has begun preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase III of the Kochi Metro, which proposes an extension from Aluva to Angamaly via Kochi airport.

Systra MVA Consulting India has started soil testing and topographic surveys along the 17.5 km alignment. The firm was awarded the Rs 1.3-crore DPR contract in April, with completion expected in six months. The proposed corridor will feature an elevated line with a partial underground section. As part of the planning process, KMRL will also collect public feedback to ensure the project aligns with community needs.

Emphasising the importance of public participation, KMRL Managing Director Loknath Behera said the agency will actively seek suggestions and ideas before finalizing the DPR.
