The Adani Group plans to establish a modern, 2,000-bed multi-specialty hospital and integrated health facility in New Town near Kolkata.
According to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Adani Group Director Karan Adani met with state officials and secured written consent for the project. Furthermore, group chairman Gautam Adani sent a formal commitment letter expressing the conglomerate's intent to fast-track construction.
The proposed healthcare facility is expected to significantly strengthen medical infrastructure and expand healthcare access in the region. The project blends commercial healthcare services with a substantial public welfare component, dedicating half of its capacity—1,000 beds—entirely to free treatment for economically weaker and underprivileged sections. This development marks a major expansion of the Adani Group’s footprint in West Bengal, opening up new avenues for medical, technological, and allied employment opportunities in the state.
