New Delhi: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced a significant boost to its construction arm with new orders totaling ₹2,084 crore in the power transmission and distribution sector. The Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts encompass both domestic and international projects, highlighting L&T's expanding global footprint.
Domestically, L&T has been awarded EPC contracts to develop 235 MW of solar photovoltaic power projects in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. Notably, the company will implement a pioneering floating solar photovoltaic plant on a reservoir in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, as part of the Tirupati Smart City mission. Additionally, L&T has secured a Rural Electricity Infrastructure Development project under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) in West Bengal.
Internationally, L&T has won a major contract in Saudi Arabia for constructing 115kV substations and associated transmission infrastructure. The company also secured orders for 132kV cable works in Dubai, UAE, and EHV substation projects in Oman and Qatar. Furthermore, L&T has been awarded a 275kV substation project in Sarawak, Malaysia.
These contracts underscore L&T’s growing role in the global power infrastructure sector and its commitment to advancing energy solutions across diverse markets.
