Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has provided consent to the notification of 147 acres of land in Rani Khera, Delhi, earmarked for the establishment of an industrial area.
Originally transferred from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) in 2007, the land had been designated for a multi-level manufacturing hub. However, progress on the project was impeded by legal challenges.
Following the resolution of legal obstacles, the state's industrial department, on 3rd January 2023, sought the Governor's approval to officially notify Rani Khera for development. This falls under the provisions outlined in Sub-section (k) of Section-2 of the Delhi Industrial Development Operation and Maintenance (DIDOM) Act, 2010, aligned with the Master Plan of Delhi 2021.
The LG's approval for this land comes three months subsequent to the similar approval granted for the specification of 55.20 acres at the Baprola industrial area in September 2023, and 920 acres at the Kanjhawala Industrial area in May 2023.
