L&T Scores Big in Guwahati Sports Complex Revamp

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the redevelopment of the R.G. Baruah Sports Complex in Guwahati, located in the Kamrup district of Assam.

Awarded by the Public Works Department, Assam, L&T’s bid for the project is valued at ₹748.00 crore. The redevelopment aims to transform the iconic complex into a landmark sporting destination in the North-East, in line with Assam’s ambition to become a major hub for sports by significantly upgrading its infrastructure.

The project will include comprehensive enhancements such as state-of-the-art training centres, modern stadium facilities, and improved amenities to support a wide array of sporting disciplines. This initiative is a key component of Assam’s broader vision to promote sports excellence and provide world-class facilities for athletes across the region.
