Lucent Pharmatech LLP planning to set up Bulk Drugs Manufacturing Unit in Gujarat

Lucent Pharmatech LLP has formulated plans to establish a novel bulk medicines project in the region of Kathwada, Kheda, Gujarat. The estimated cost of the project is approximately 4 Crores Indian Rupees, with a projected production volume of 500 metric tons of bulk pharmaceuticals each month. The company intends to manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates to be used in a range of pharmaceutical formulations.

 It is anticipated that the project will reach completion by the year 2025. The government of Gujarat has been actively endorsing the establishment of bulk drug parks within the state. Kathwada has been recognized by the state government as a viable site for the park, primarily due to its advantageous proximity to the Surat airport and the National Highway 8. It is anticipated that the establishment of the park will garner interest from other pharmaceutical enterprises, hence facilitating the augmentation of bulk drug production in the region of Gujarat. 

The establishment of bulk drug parks is an integral component of the government's strategic initiative to transform India into a self-sufficient and prominent centre for pharmaceutical manufacture. In addition, the government has implemented measures to encourage pharmaceutical businesses to establish manufacturing facilities within the borders of India. It is anticipated that these steps will facilitate the augmentation of bulk medicine production in India and mitigate the nation's reliance on imports.
