Maharashtra Floats ₹2,136 Crore Tender for Key Water Project

The Maharashtra Water Resources Department (WRD) has floated a tender valued at ₹2,135.97 crore for the construction of a dam, spillway, water supply-cum-power outlet (WSCPO), and associated ancillary works under the Poshir Irrigation Project in Karjat Taluka, Raigad district.

The project aims to enhance regional water storage capacity, ensure reliable water supply, and harness hydroelectric potential. The scope of work includes obtaining statutory clearances for diversion of required forest land from the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (Forest Conservation Division), and preparing proposals for the acquisition of private land.

Bidders are required to adhere to all environmental safeguards, rehabilitation guidelines, and other regulatory norms. The initiative is a key step toward strengthening Maharashtra’s water infrastructure for agricultural and energy benefits.

The deadline for bid submission is 19 August 2025.
