Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has achieved a significant milestone by formalizing partnerships through the signing of Green Hydrogen Policy Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with seven prominent companies. This groundbreaking move establishes Maharashtra as a trailblazing state actively promoting the development of green hydrogen. The state is committing a substantial investment of Rs. 2.76 lakh crore, showcasing Maharashtra's steadfast dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde remarked on this historic achievement, stating, "The signing of Green Hydrogen Policy MoUs with seven companies is a momentous accomplishment. Maharashtra is leading the way as the first state to champion Green Hydrogen. A total investment of Rs. 2.76 lakh crore is being infused into this initiative, involving collaboration with seven major companies. This initiative, supported by a flexible and liberal policy framework, is anticipated to generate employment opportunities for 60,000-70,000 individuals."
Highlighting the alignment of this initiative with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary goals, Chief Minister Shinde commended the commitment and active participation of key stakeholders. He revealed that substantial investments, including MoUs with industry giants ArcelorMittal and Nippon, were formalized during this milestone event, amounting to an impressive Rs. 40,000 crores. This considerable investment is expected to create over 20,000 jobs, further solidifying Maharashtra's reputation as an industrial-friendly state.
Eknath Shinde underscored the state's immense potential, encompassing robust infrastructure connectivity, a skilled workforce, available land, and investor-friendly policies. Expressing confidence that Maharashtra is rapidly becoming the preferred destination for industries, he acknowledged the support of Prime Minister Modi in this endeavor. The state government is fully committed to fostering a conducive business environment, offering amenities such as single-window clearance and subsidies, to attract and facilitate investments.
