The Goa government has approved the construction of a modern bus terminal in Mapusa, fulfilling a long-standing demand from residents of Bardez.

Estimated cost: ₹192 crore, Mode: Public-Private Partnership (PPP) under the DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer) model, Site area: Over 27,000 sq. metres
Timeline:
Main terminal: Completion in 24 months, Commercial complex: Completion in 36 months
The new facility will replace the ageing and inadequate existing bus stand, which has long suffered from poor infrastructure, waterlogging, and waste management issues.
Planned Features:
700+ parking spaces (500 for two-wheelers, 200 for four-wheelers), A modern transport hub with improved passenger amenities, An integrated commercial complex to enhance project viability
Given Mapusa’s role as a key commercial and cultural hub, the project aims to significantly improve commuter convenience, stimulate urban development, and upgrade public transport infrastructure in North Goa.
