MCF Invests ₹240 Crores in Sulphuric Acid Unit Expand in Karnataka

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCF) is embarking on a substantial expansion project titled "Sulphuric Acid Unit Expansion" at its facility in Panambur, Mangalore, Karnataka. With a notable investment of ₹240 Crores, the project aims to augment the Sulphuric Acid production capacity from the existing 810,000 MTPA to an impressive 1.26 MTPA.

This expansion involves the establishment of a new Sulphuric Acid Unit with a targeted capacity of 450,000 MTPA, alongside the development of essential infrastructure like storage tanks, pipelines, and a captive power plant.

The venture holds strategic significance for MCF as it not only addresses the escalating demand for Sulphuric Acid in the southern region of India but also positions the company to play a pivotal role in catering to the needs of various industries, including fertilizers, chemicals, and textiles. Furthermore, the project is anticipated to contribute to the economic landscape of the region by generating new employment opportunities.

In terms of progress, MCF has already secured environmental clearance for the project and is currently in the process of finalizing the financial aspects. Construction work is expected to commence shortly, with the entire project slated for completion within a span of 24 months from the commencement date. In essence, the Sulphuric Acid Unit Expansion Project signifies a substantial investment by MCF, poised to propel the company's growth and address the surging demand for Sulphuric Acid within the Indian market.
