MCL’s ₹2,043 Cr Hingula Project: Bidding Now Open

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has floated a tender for the hiring of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) for re-handling and removal of overburden and other materials at the Hingula Open Cast Project (OCP) in the Hingula Area of Odisha.

The scope of work includes drilling, excavation, loading, transportation, dumping, and spreading of various materials up to the exposure of Seam-II-D (including partings). The required fleet comprises shovels, dumpers, tippers, drills, dozers, graders, fog cannons, and other supporting equipment.

The total material to be handled under the contract is approximately 167.946 million cubic metres. The estimated project cost stands at ₹2,043.45 crore, with a contract period of five years.

This initiative forms part of MCL’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and scale up coal production at the Hingula OCP. Interested bidders are required to submit their proposals by February 26, 2026.
