MECL Kicks Off Bauxite Exploration in Gujarat's Dhrang Block

Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL), a key agency under the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET), has commenced exploratory drilling for bauxite and associated minerals in the Dhrang Block, Kutch District, Gujarat, on October 14, 2025.

The initiative is part of the broader Baghewala Project, aimed at assessing the bauxite reserves and related mineral resources in the region. The exploration is expected to provide valuable data to enhance the understanding of Gujarat’s mineral potential.

MECL’s continued efforts across multiple states reflect its strong commitment to strengthening India’s mineral resource base and supporting the growth and sustainability of the mining sector.
