Mercedes-Benz is set to broaden its reach in India by expanding into tier-2 cities, with plans to open 10 new service centers by the end of 2024. This strategic move aims to tap into the increasing demand from smaller markets like Raipur and Nashik, which have shown significant growth.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, emphasized the importance of these mini-markets, although the majority of the company’s growth still stems from metro cities like Mumbai and Delhi. "Our focus in these smaller markets will be on enhancing service first, rather than sales," Iyer stated, underscoring the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction in these regions.
Alongside expanding its service network, Mercedes-Benz is exploring the localization of accessories to better meet the preferences of Indian consumers. Additionally, the company plans to transform 25 retail outlets into luxury boutiques this year, offering a more personalized and high-end shopping experience, including design studios and private consultations.
To further enhance customer service, Mercedes-Benz will now provide a courtesy car if a vehicle under warranty remains in the workshop for more than three days. This initiative builds on their premium service offering, which already includes a three-hour turnaround for routine maintenance.
The company continues to innovate in product offerings as well, with recent launches including the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé and CLE 300 Cabriolet AMG in India. They are also gearing up to introduce the electric Maybach EQS 680 SUV in September, reflecting their commitment to the Indian market.
