MIMS Gears Up for Growth Unveiling the Ambitious Hospital Expansion Project in Kerala

Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences Limited (MIMS) is set to propel healthcare in Kannur, Kerala, with its forthcoming hospital expansion project. Valued at 47 crore, this endeavor marks a significant milestone in augmenting healthcare accessibility and services in the region.

The expansion, spanning a substantial 23,422.00 sq mt, anticipates enhancing medical provisions by either extending existing facilities or constructing a new hospital building. This augmentation, inclusive of increased bed capacity, incorporation of new specialties, and state-of-the-art medical equipment, aims to bring diversified diagnostic and treatment options closer to the local community.

The project harbors manifold benefits, foremost being improved healthcare access for Kannur residents, curbing the necessity of traveling to larger cities for quality medical services. Additionally, this initiative is envisioned to galvanize the local economy by generating job prospects across healthcare, construction, and administrative sectors. Moreover, the upgraded infrastructure and advanced medical services hold the promise of catapulting Kerala into a sought-after medical tourism destination.

However, MIMS faces a series of considerations to ensure the project's success. Striking a balance for financial sustainability, attracting a skilled medical workforce, strategic technological integration, and maintaining a patient-centric approach are pivotal for the seamless execution and operation of this ambitious healthcare expansion.

As on December, 2023. The project is now in the stage of construction being started. The completion of the project's work has reached the 70% mark. The work on the project will be finished by March of 2024.
