On April 24, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of major development projects in Madhubani district, Bihar, with a cumulative value exceeding ₹13,480 crore.
A key highlight was the launch of an LPG bottling plant with a rail unloading facility at Hathua in Gopalganj district, developed at a cost of around ₹340 crore. This facility aims to bolster the LPG supply chain and improve bulk transportation logistics across the region.
In a significant push to Bihar’s power infrastructure, the Prime Minister laid the foundation for electricity distribution projects worth ₹1,170 crore and inaugurated additional projects exceeding ₹5,030 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. These initiatives are expected to modernize the power grid and enhance energy access in both rural and urban areas.
To strengthen regional connectivity, PM Modi flagged off several new train services, including the Amrit Bharat Express (Saharsa–Mumbai) and the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (Jaynagar–Patna), along with new services linking Pipra, Saharsa, and Samastipur. He also inaugurated key railway lines such as the Supaul–Pipra and Hasanpur–Bithan sections, and dedicated the Khagaria–Alauli rail line to the nation. Two newly constructed two-lane rail overbridges in Chapra and Bagaha were also inaugurated to ease road and rail congestion.
In the housing sector, over 1 lakh rural beneficiaries of PMAY-G (Gramin) and 54,000 under PMAY-U (Urban) celebrated their Grih Pravesh, marking a milestone in the government's mission of “Housing for All.”
