The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced a tender for the upgradation of the Nandur Shigote-Kolhar section of NH-160D. The project involves the strengthening and widening of this 47.37 km stretch, which will be upgraded to a 2-lane configuration under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.
Valued at ₹246.9 crore, the contract aims to enhance the road's infrastructure to improve traffic flow and safety. The project is expected to take 18 months, including the rainy season, with an additional five years dedicated to maintenance. This timeline reflects the project's extensive scope and the need for thorough quality assurance and long-term durability.
Bidders are required to submit their proposals by 14 October 2024. The successful contractor will be responsible for completing the upgradation works, which include road strengthening, widening, and associated improvements to ensure a robust and efficient transport corridor.
This upgradation is a part of MoRTH's broader initiative to enhance national highway infrastructure across India, aiming to boost connectivity, reduce travel time, and support economic growth by improving key transportation routes.
The project represents a significant investment in the region’s infrastructure, reflecting the government's commitment to upgrading road networks to meet modern demands and support regional development.
