Mother Dairy Churns Up Growth Ambitions in Delhi

Mother Dairy aims for a 13% turnover growth, reaching ₹17,000 crore this fiscal year, fueled by the rising demand for dairy and edible oil products. As a leading milk supplier in Delhi-NCR, it also sells 'Dhara' brand edible oils nationwide and fresh produce through 400 'Safal' outlets in Delhi-NCR. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the company achieved a milestone revenue of ₹15,000 crore last year, reflecting over a 40% jump in the last three years.

Managing Director Manish Bandlish highlighted a strong start to the 2024-25 fiscal year, with summer-led categories like curd, ice creams, and dairy beverages growing by more than 40% in volume. Bandlish emphasized plans to enhance national presence with expanded distribution, increased capacities, and new product launches. The company has already added over ₹4,500 crore to its topline in the past three years and introduced around 30 new products this year.

Mother Dairy is focusing on fermented dairy, sweets, and cheese, with new facilities in Nagpur and Gujarat. The Nagpur plant, a mega-dairy processing unit, will handle up to 10 lakh liters of milk daily, and the Junagadh facility will see added table butter capacity. Greenfield plants in Karnataka and Gujarat will support the fruits and vegetables sector.

Founded in 1974 under the 'Operation Flood' initiative, Mother Dairy has grown into a leading dairy industry player, selling over 45 lakh liters of milk daily. It also boasts a diverse portfolio under the 'Dhara' and 'Safal' brands, including edible oils, fresh and frozen produce, and more.

The company operates nine milk processing plants and uses 16 third-party plants for edible oils, solidifying its position in the market and continuing its legacy of growth and innovation.
