Mukka Proteins Lands ₹475 Crore Bengaluru Eco-Contract!

Mukka Proteins, a leading producer of fish meal, fish oil, and fish-soluble paste, has secured a ₹474.89 crore contract through its joint venture with Hardik Gowda and MS Jathin Infra.

Awarded by Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML), the project involves the treatment and safe disposal of legacy leachate at the Mittaganahalli and Kannur landfill sites in Bengaluru. Mukka Proteins, holding a 76% stake in the JV, will spearhead the initiative, which includes a six-month construction phase followed by four years of project execution. The initiative represents a major step toward environmental restoration and reducing long-term pollution risks associated with aging landfills.

Mukka’s proven capability in handling complex wastewater systems—managing over 2 MLD of fish-processing wastewater—played a key role in securing the contract. The project will ensure zero untreated discharge, enhance resource circularity, and significantly reduce the environmental footprint of legacy landfill sites.
