The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has begun trial runs on the 9.77-km Dharavi–Acharya Atre Chowk stretch of Metro Aqua Line 3 (Phase 2A). This corridor is expected to be operational by the end of the 2024-25 financial year, with an official inauguration likely to be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Designed to improve connectivity across Mumbai, the new metro route will help ease traffic congestion and provide a cost-effective alternative to road transport. It will feature six stations: Dharavi, Shitla Devi Mandir, Dadar Metro, Siddhivinayak, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk.
As of February 20, Mumbai Metro Line 3 has recorded a total ridership of 26.63 lakh, maintaining an impressive average punctuality rate of 99.60%. Ticket fares range from ₹10 to ₹50.
