Mumbai’s Skyline Shift: Final Pylon Placed on ₹389.7 Cr Mahalaxmi ROB

Construction on the Rs 389.7 crore Mahalaxmi Cable-Stayed Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Mumbai has crossed a crucial benchmark with the erection of the final segment of its 68.5-meter steel pylon. Soaring 78.5 meters above ground level, the iconic structural element stands at the center of this engineering feat.

Designed to streamline traffic between Keshavrao Khade Marg and Saat Rasta, the 736-meter bridge stretches over 11 operational railway tracks in one of Mumbai’s most densely populated transit corridors. Guided by RITES as the project supervision consultant, the execution team continues to enforce stringent safety, quality control, and engineering standards across the complex 260-meter critical stretch.

Developed under Western Railway’s urban mobility and transit infrastructure initiative, the Mahalaxmi ROB is set to significantly alleviate congestion and enhance South Mumbai connectivity. The completion of the pylon marks a decisive leap forward in delivering a durable, state-of-the-art landmark for the city.
