Mumbai-based sustainable luggage brand Uppercase is set to launch its own hard luggage manufacturing facility in Nashik, expected to become operational next month.
This strategic move supports the brand’s expansion goals and enhances control over production quality and sustainability practices. Uppercase stands out in the market through its commitment to eco-conscious materials—its hard luggage is crafted using a blend of virgin and recycled polycarbonate, while its soft luggage is made from yarn spun from recycled plastic, sourced through a GRS-certified supply chain. While sustainable materials can cost up to 30% more, the company remains focused on long-term environmental impact.
In line with its growth strategy, Uppercase plans to expand its exclusive store network from 17 to approximately 70 locations by the end of the current financial year. The brand currently reaches consumers via 32 distributors and about 2,900 retail partners across India, with offline sales contributing 60% of total revenue. Uppercase aims to achieve break-even by FY28, supported by healthy gross margins of around 50%.
