Sterlite Power has successfully acquired the Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission project in Rajasthan from PFC Consulting (PFCC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation (PFC). This project, awarded to Sterlite Power through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process in November 2023, involves the development of two crucial components: a 6,000 MVA, 765/400kV substation at Neemrana and two 400 kV transmission lines spanning 250 km. These transmission lines will connect Neemrana with the existing Kotputli substation and establish a LILO corridor connecting Neemrana II with Gurgaon and Sohna substations through the existing Gurgaon-Sohna line.
Sterlite Power will execute this green energy initiative on a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) basis for a period of 35 years. This marks Sterlite's twentieth power transmission project in the country under the TBCB process, contributing to the company's portfolio of projects valued at Rs 14,000 crore. The Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission project is anticipated to play a pivotal role in facilitating the flow of 7.7 GW of green power, thereby advancing the nation's transition towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
In addition to this acquisition, Sterlite Power secured its first green energy project, Fatehgarh III Beawar Transmission (Phase-III, Part G project), in March 2023. This was followed by another win in August of the same year with the Beawar Transmission (Phase III, Part-F) project, both located in Rajasthan. These green energy projects involve the construction of a 950-km transmission corridor across the state, further reinforcing Sterlite Power's commitment to renewable energy initiatives.
