On September 15, 2025, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar approved an additional ₹150 crore for the Ahilyanagar–Beed–Parli Vaijnath Broad Gauge Railway Project, bringing the state’s total allocation to ₹2,091 crore. The 261-km railway line, with an estimated cost of ₹4,805 crore, is being jointly funded by the Centre and the state government, each contributing 50%. Of the state’s ₹2,402 crore share, ₹2,091 crore has now been disbursed.
The first train service on the Ahilyanagar–Beed section is scheduled to be flagged off on September 17, addressing a long-standing demand of Beed district residents.
Deputy CM Pawar, who also serves as the Guardian Minister of Beed, has prioritized infrastructure development in the region, holding frequent review meetings to fast-track projects related to rail, road, and air connectivity. He emphasized that the railway project will be transformative for Beed—enhancing regional connectivity, attracting investments, generating employment, and directly benefiting farmers, students, entrepreneurs, and traders. The project is expected to play a key role in reshaping the district’s economic landscape.
