NH-65 Upgrade: Hyderabad-Vijayawada Six-Lane Approved

The Central Government has approved the widening of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway (NH-65), a key infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing travel safety, easing congestion, and improving regional connectivity.

The project involves expanding the existing four-lane highway to six lanes over a 229 km stretch, covering sections from km 40 to km 269. The decision follows the efforts of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who had been advocating for the upgrade.

Once completed, the widened corridor is expected to reduce travel time by nearly two hours and significantly lower road accident rates.

Land acquisition has already begun across various districts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with Revenue officials overseeing the process. The project’s completion will mark a major boost to intercity connectivity, offering commuters a smoother, faster, and safer travel experience between Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
