The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a significant bid invitation for the enhancement of the Kundapur to Surathkal and Nantoor to Talapady sections of NH-66 in Karnataka. This project is set to address critical road safety issues and improve connectivity in the region.
The scope of the EPC contract encompasses the construction of a vehicular underpass (VUP) with retaining wall approaches, a 13.13 km service road featuring a drain-cum-footpath, and six foot overbridges (FOBs) with ramps on both sides. These additions are strategically planned at various blackspot and accident-prone locations to enhance road safety.
Valued at Rs. 137.83 crore, the project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months, followed by a maintenance period of five years. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure long-term safety and usability for all road users.
Interested parties must submit their bids by the deadline of September 11, 2024. The NHAI's call for bids represents a significant opportunity for contractors to contribute to the development of Karnataka's highway infrastructure.
This project underscores the NHAI's commitment to improving road safety and infrastructure, offering a robust solution to reduce accidents and enhance travel efficiency along NH-66.
