NHAI Greenlights ₹458.89 Cr Overhaul for Surat–Vapi Section

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the rehabilitation and strengthening of existing service roads, construction of new service roads, and RCC drains along the Surat–Vapi section of National Highway-48 in Gujarat.

The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project, valued at ₹458.89 crore, will cover the stretch from km 263.00 to km 381.00. The scope of work also includes overlaying of the main carriageway and execution of other ancillary works aimed at improving overall highway infrastructure. The selected contractor will be required to complete the project within one year, followed by a five-year maintenance period after completion.

The initiative is intended to enhance road capacity, improve traffic flow, and strengthen connectivity between Surat and Vapi along this key corridor of NH-48. The deadline for submission of bids is March 16, 2026.
