NHAI Opens Bids for ₹2,441 Cr HAM Project in Bihar

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a tender for four-laning the Muzaffarpur–Sitamarhi–Sonbarsa section of National Highway 22.

The project covers a total length of 82.551 km, from design chainage km 0.000 to km 82.551, and will be implemented in Bihar under the hybrid annuity mode (HAM). The estimated project cost is ₹2,441.07 crore.

The four-laning is aimed at strengthening road infrastructure, improving regional connectivity, enhancing road safety, and supporting economic growth. The project forms part of the government’s broader National Highways Development Programme (NHDP) to upgrade highway networks in line with rising traffic volumes.

Bids for the project must be submitted by February 25, 2026.
