NHPC's 300 MW Solar Vision Takes Shape in Rajasthan

NHPC has commenced commercial operations of 107.14 MW out of its 300 MW solar photovoltaic project located in Karnisar, Bikaner district, Rajasthan. The partial commissioning, effective from 12 April 2025, follows successful trial runs conducted on 10 April.

The state-owned hydropower major announced the development, noting that commissioning dates for the remaining 193 MW will be disclosed in due course. This milestone marks a significant step in NHPC’s strategic transition into the renewable energy space, reinforcing its commitment to India’s climate goals and energy diversification efforts.

The project is poised to contribute to India's national clean energy targets, aid in carbon emission reduction, and promote regional development in the Bikaner area.
