Nova Control Tecnologix, a deep-tech subsidiary of e2E Transportation Infrastructure, has partnered with Tata Elxsi to jointly develop Kavach 4.0, an advanced version of India’s Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system.
Designed to prevent train collisions and enhance operational safety, Kavach 4.0 will be deployed across the Indian Railways network, incorporating SIL4-certified engineering standards—the highest level of safety integrity in railway systems. The collaboration marks a major step in private sector participation within a critical rail safety domain traditionally managed by public sector enterprises.
Tata Elxsi will contribute its expertise in AI, IoT, and digital engineering, supporting railway modernisation and intelligent automation. The phased rollout will prioritise high-density and high-priority routes, with production based in Bengaluru. The system will undergo rigorous certification by Indian Railways and the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) before large-scale implementation.
