NTPC Flips the Switch on 130 MW Khavda-I Solar

NTPC Renewable Energy is set to commence commercial power supply from its 130.47 MW Khavda-I solar project in Gujarat from midnight on January 29, 2026.

The addition will raise the total operational capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group from 8,347.78 MW to 8,478.25 MW. The Khavda-I project forms part of a larger 1,255 MW solar capacity being developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III.

The commencement of commercial operations marks another milestone in NTPC’s renewable energy expansion, strengthening its position in India’s green power sector. The Khavda-I project is also a key element of NTPC Renewable Energy’s long-term strategy to scale up solar generation and support the country’s renewable energy targets.
