NTPC Goes Big in Bhadla: 300 MW Solar Capacity Now Live

NTPC’s renewable energy arm has successfully commissioned 300 MW of solar power capacity in Rajasthan, marking a key milestone in the company’s clean energy expansion.

The newly commissioned capacity is part of the 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project at Phalodi, Rajasthan, and has been brought online by NTPC Green Energy, a subsidiary of the state-owned power major. The commissioning certificate for the 300 MW block was issued on January 14, 2026, with commercial operations commencing a day earlier on January 13, 2026.

With this addition, NTPC Green Energy’s commercial renewable capacity has increased to 8,010.28 MW, while its total installed capacity now stands at 8,310.28 MW.

At the group level, NTPC’s consolidated commercial capacity has reached 86,207 MW, with total installed capacity rising to 87,287 MW. The development reinforces NTPC’s commitment to scaling up renewable energy generation and supporting India’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy mix.
